SMTP Settings
The SMTP Settings section in QuantixOne controls how email sessions are handled — including session timeout rules, default sender behavior, and other delivery defaults that apply across your entire account.
Navigating to SMTP Settings
- Go to Settings → Channels → Email.
- Click the Settings tab (next to Configure).
The Settings tab controls session rules and email delivery defaults.
Session Rules
Session rules define how QuantixOne groups email messages into conversation threads. Configuring these correctly ensures replies land in the right conversation.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Session Timeout | How long a conversation stays "active" after the last message. After this period, a new email from the same contact starts a new conversation. |
| Reply Threading | Whether replies to an email are grouped into the original thread using In-Reply-To headers. |
Adjust session timeout and reply threading to control conversation grouping.
Recommended Values
- Session Timeout: 24–48 hours for most businesses. Set to 7 days for long sales cycles.
- Reply Threading: Enable this for most use cases so replies stay in context.
Default Sender Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Default From Name | The display name used when no specific sender identity is selected |
| Reply-To Address | An optional address where replies are directed if different from the From address |
| Email Footer | Optional text appended to every outgoing email (e.g., legal disclaimers or unsubscribe instructions) |
Set a default from name and reply-to address for your account.
Unsubscribe Handling
Enable Automatic Unsubscribe to add a one-click unsubscribe link to all outgoing emails. When a recipient clicks it, they are automatically added to the suppression list and will not receive further emails.
This is recommended for bulk emails and campaigns to comply with email regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR).
Enable automatic unsubscribe to add a one-click unsubscribe link to all emails.
Saving Changes
Click Save after making any changes to SMTP settings. Changes take effect immediately for all new outgoing emails.
