Opt-in Management

Opt-in Management lets you track which contacts have given consent to receive WhatsApp messages from your business. WhatsApp's policy requires that contacts explicitly opt in before you can message them.

Why Opt-in Matters

Sending WhatsApp messages to contacts who have not opted in is a policy violation that can result in:

  • Contacts blocking your number and reporting spam
  • A drop in your Quality Rating
  • Restrictions on your messaging throughput
  • Account suspension by Meta

  1. Go to Settings → Channels → WhatsApp.
  2. Click the Opt-in Management tab.

Subscription Lists

Subscription lists group contacts by their consent status. You can create multiple lists for different purposes (e.g., "Marketing Opt-ins", "Order Updates", "Support").

Creating a Subscription List

  1. Click + New List.
  2. Enter a List Name.
  3. Click Create.

Adding Contacts to a List

Contacts can be added to a subscription list:

  • Manually — Select contacts from your contact list and assign them to a subscription list.
  • Via opt-in forms — Link a form or landing page that captures consent and automatically adds contacts.
  • Via webhook — POST to the QuantixOne API when a contact opts in externally.

Viewing Opt-in Status Per Contact

On any contact's record, the WhatsApp section shows:

  • Whether the contact is subscribed or unsubscribed
  • Which subscription lists they are on
  • The date they opted in

Unsubscribing a Contact

If a contact asks to stop receiving WhatsApp messages:

  1. Open the contact record.
  2. In the WhatsApp section, click Unsubscribe.
  3. Confirm — the contact is removed from all subscription lists and will not receive further WhatsApp messages.

Alternatively, if a contact replies with a stop keyword (e.g., "STOP"), QuantixOne can auto-unsubscribe them. Configure this in the Notifications & Auto-Reply settings.

Under Settings, configure what counts as consent for your account:

SettingDescription
Required opt-inBlock sending to any contact not on a subscription list
Soft opt-inAllow sends to all contacts but flag non-subscribed ones
